Chapter 5: Thursday League

Abner had me against the cinder-block wall before the side door finished closing.

The gym was dark except for the green exit sign and the lamp in his glass-walled office at the far end.

His forearm lay across my collarbone.

His other hand held my jaw, and he looked at my mouth for a long moment before he kissed it.

Isaiah's kiss had been slow.

Abner's was hard and hungry and certain, with his teeth in it, and I opened for him at once.

I kissed him back until I was dizzy.

His hand slid under my dress and up the inside of my thigh.

It found the wet heat of me and stopped there, flat and possessive.

"Already," he said.

"You've been in my head since Wednesday."

"Good." He pressed the heel of his hand against me, once, and I shuddered. "Stay there."

"You bit me," he said against my lips.

"I did."

He lifted his right hand into the light from the exit sign.

The crescent of my teeth was still in the heel of it, purple now at the edges.

"I wore that to league tonight," he said. "Thirty boys. Not one of them asked."

"Did it hurt?"

"All night." His thumb pressed my lower lip. "Come here."

He took me by the wrist and walked me across the polished floor, past the folded bleachers and the free-throw line, to the office.

The whistle hung on its silver cord against his white shirt.

The desk was steel, covered with clipboards and a coffee mug full of pens.

He swept the clipboards to the floor with one arm.

"On your knees, young lady," Abner said.

I looked up at him.

"Is that an order?" I said.

"It's an invitation. Tell me to stop, I dare you."

"Make me," I said.

His jaw flexed, and something moved behind his eyes.

I dropped to my knees on the cold floor, in front of his chair, and put my hands on his belt.

I opened it and unbuttoned his slacks and drew them down, and his cock sprang out, thick and heavy and flushed dark.

He was bigger than I had guessed.

I wrapped my fingers around him, and he sucked in a hard breath.

"Eyes up," he said.

I looked up the length of him.

He made a low sound in his chest.

I moved faster, and I heard the wet sounds I was making in that silent gym, and I let him hear them.

His hips lifted, and he pushed deeper, and I gagged a little and took him anyway.

"Easy," he said. "Easy, I've got you."

"I know," I said, around him.

His eyes flared.

I let him slip out of my mouth and licked up the underside of his cock, slowly, from the base to the head.

Then I took one heavy testicle in my mouth and sucked.

"Lord have mercy," Abner said.

He had both hands braced on the steel desk, and it rattled against the wall.

"Look at that mouth," he said, roughly. "Thirty years I've told boys to keep their eyes on the ball. I can't keep mine off you."

"Then don't."

I swallowed him down again, and he pushed his hips forward, and his hand came back to my hair.

I took him as deep as I could and stayed there, and his grip tightened.

"Naomi," Abner said, hoarse. "Naomi, stop."

I pulled off with a wet sound and looked up at him with my lips swollen.
