I sat down next to Santino on the bed.
For a while neither of us said anything.
"Does Nate know?" I asked.
"No. Tommy's been driving Gianna to her appointments. Nate thinks she's due in August."
I thought about the lawn.
The gas on his hands.
Your baby. Gianna's having mine.
"Don't tell anyone," I said.
"Saturday?"
"Saturday."
The Essex Grand ballroom held four hundred people.
On Saturday night every seat was full.
