Tilly's Reef.
Eli read it upside down and didn't say anything.
"What does it say?" Tilly demanded.
"It says your name," I said. "On an island."
She considered this.
"The sharks' island?"
"The baby sharks' island. Where they're safe."

They put up the sign in June.
It was small and plain, brown wood with white letters, on a post at the end of the old dock.
TILLY'S REEF. PROTECTED NURSERY. NO ENTRY INSIDE THE REEF.
Eli brought us out on his boat on a Saturday morning, just the three of us and Nan and the captain's sister from Georgia.
Under the sign there was a second, smaller plate.
It was brass, with the captain's name on it and two lines underneath.
