I stared at him.

"Since Wednesday," I said.

"Since Wednesday night," Dash said.

"That was nine days ago."

"Yes."

"You took me to bed on Monday."

"Juno..."

"You knew. Every time. You looked at me, and you knew."

He didn't flinch.

I gave him that.

He stood by the window with his hands open at his sides and let it land.

"I knew," he said.

"And the bounty?"

His jaw tightened.

"Six weeks ago an investor I'd never met asked me about a clause in our source license," he said.

"Nobody outside this building knew that clause existed."

"Bettina was the only one who could've told him."

"So you set a trap."

"I put a hundred and fifty thousand dollars on a ghost, and I sat back."

"I figured whoever was selling us out would want to be the hero."

"She stood up immediately. I couldn't believe how fast."

"You used my fix."

"I used a stranger's fix. Then I found out the stranger was you."

I laughed.

It wasn't a good laugh.

"You let me hide behind a water pitcher because you needed Bettina to keep lying."

"I needed her to keep lying until I could prove it."

"And what did you need me for?"

He opened his mouth.

I held up a hand.

"You could have said it over the noodles," I said.
