Chapter 12: Payroll Goes Out Friday

That night, Lorne and I got as far as the doorway before he picked me up.

I wrapped my legs around his waist, and he kicked the door shut, and the cracker box fell over again.

"Your house is a hazard," I said into his mouth.

"It's temporary."

"It's been temporary for two weeks."

"Stop talking about my house."

He carried me to the mattress, and I took his tie off him and dropped it on the floor.

"She asked if I was feeling unwell."

"Were you?"

"I was feeling extremely well."

I laughed until he put his mouth on me, and then I stopped laughing and said something else.

When he finally pushed inside, I said his name in a voice I didn't recognize.

He took me on my back with my ankles on his shoulders, deep and slow, one hand pinning mine to the mattress, and I let him.

I could feel every part of him, how thick and hot he was, and how he watched my face the whole time.
