Chapter 5: Ask Me His Name

He didn't wait until the door closed.

Sandro kicked it shut behind us and lifted me against it, and my shoes hit the floor one at a time.

"Tonight," he said against my mouth. "You said tonight."

"I said yes."

"Say it again."

"Yes."

He pulled the black dress up over my head and dropped it, and for a moment the only sound in the room was both of us breathing.

The photos were in a stocking at the bottom of a shoe in the closet, and for once I wasn't thinking about them.

For the first time in two days there was nothing on my body but me.

"You're shaking again," he said, softer.

"It's not fear."

I took his hand and put it between my legs, over the lace.

His breath broke.

"Christ, Mara. You're soaked."

"Because of you."

His mouth went to my neck and then my breast, and he pulled the cup of my bra down with his teeth and closed his lips around my nipple.

I arched off the door and my head hit the wood.

He caught it in one big palm so I wouldn't hurt myself and kept sucking, slow, with his tongue flat and hot, until I was saying his name without meaning to.

He carried me to the bed and laid me down gently, and then he stopped being gentle.

He stripped off his shirt and his belt in a few hard movements, and I looked at him.

Broad chest, dark hair, a thin white scar low on his ribs that I had never seen.

"Where's that from?"

"Later." He knelt on the bed and took my ankles. "I'm busy."

He dragged me to the edge of the mattress and pulled the lace down my legs.

Then he put his mouth on me.

I cried out, and my hands went into his hair.
