Chapter 20: Rain on the Water

The hot tub sat on the deck of the cabin with nothing above it but the dark and the rain.

The water was steaming, and the storm came in off the Pacific in long gray gusts.

They hit the cedar rail and blew spray across my face.

I did not care.

I sat between two men with the water at my collarbone, and I could not feel any part of me that was cold.

Jussi was behind me on the molded seat, with his arms around my waist and his beard against my neck.

Gunnar sat facing me, with his knees against mine and his eyes on my mouth.

"Closer," I said.

He came closer.

He took my face in his wet hands, and he kissed me, slowly, with rain running down both our faces.

Jussi's hands slid up from my waist and cupped my breasts under the water.

He rolled my nipples between his fingers, and I moaned into Gunnar's mouth.

"She likes that," Jussi said, delighted.

"She likes it when I do the left one first."

"I like it when you both do everything," I said.

Gunnar's hand moved down under the water.

It found my thigh, my hip, and then the place between my legs.

He stroked me with two fingers, lazily, with all the time in the world.

He had it.

None of us had to be anywhere for three days.

"Look at me," he said.

I looked.

Rain beaded on his short pale hair and ran down his broken nose, and his eyes in the porch light were nearly silver.

"You went to the Riverwalk alone," he said, quietly.

"Yes," I said.

"You stood in front of two hundred people last night."

"Yes."

Gunnar's thumb brushed the rain from my cheek.

"I have never been so proud of anyone in my life," he said.

My throat closed.

"Good girl," Gunnar said.

His fingers slid inside me, and I gasped and arched back into Jussi.

"Open for him," Jussi whispered into my ear. "I've got you. I'm holding you up."

Gunnar worked me with his fingers, curling, in the churning hot water, until my thighs were shaking.
