"They're my wolves," I said.
"They're Ironclaw's wolves." Theron pulled his gloves back on. "And Ironclaw is mine. Goodnight, Luna."
He let himself out.
I stood in the dark until the fire went down to red.
Then I went to find Tiernan.
He was in the stables behind the Ravensdale house, the same place I had found him before.
He was brushing down a big grey horse with his good arm.
He didn't seem surprised to see me.
"Imogen," I said. "At the bridge. What did she say to you?"
He kept brushing.
"Nothing worth repeating."
"Tiernan."
He set the brush down and looked at me.
"Why are you here, Selene?"
I took a breath.
I had it all lined up in my head.
Theron paid for the tea. Theron bought the letters. Theron has an army across the river, and he wants you broken.
"Theron..." I said.
My tongue went to iron.
The crown burned, a hot ring around my skull.
I pushed through it.
"Theron wants..."
