Chapter 23: Take
The carriage house door had barely closed behind us when he turned me around and put me against the wall.
The cake was still on my fingers.
Frosting, sugar, a dried fava bean I had pocketed for luck.
It was midnight, and the whole pier had sung us home.
I had never been so happy or so tired or so wanted.
"Iannotti," I said.
"Be quiet."
I stopped.
His chest was against my back, and his hand lay flat between my shoulder blades, pressing me to the plaster.
His other hand took hold of my braid.
He wrapped it once around his fist, slowly.
He pulled my head back until I felt the tension all the way down my spine.
"You said whatever I want," he said into my ear.
"I did."
"That was this morning. I want to know if it's still true."
"It's still true." My voice came out thin. "Take it. All of it. I want it."
"Say it properly."
"Take me, Iannotti. Take me however you want."
He stopped breathing against my neck.
"Say please."
"No." I smiled against the wall. "Make me."
He made a low rough sound, and his hand yanked my head back another inch.
"That's the last thing you'll tell me no about tonight," he said.
His teeth closed on the side of my neck, and I cried out.
He bit hard enough to leave a mark, and soothed it with his tongue.
He unbuttoned my green dress down the back with one hand, fast, and I stepped out of it.
He stripped off my underwear and my stockings without letting go of my braid.
I stood naked against the wall in the dark, with my breasts flat against the cool plaster.
His free hand slid around my hip and between my thighs from behind.
Two fingers parted me and dragged slowly through the wet.
"God," I said.
"You've been like this all night."
"Since the pier."
"Since the pier," he agreed, and his voice shook. "So have I."
He pressed himself against me, and I felt the length of him through his trousers, hard against my ass.
