Chapter 4: Back Office

Anders came into Mulligan's on Friday at ten, in the dark coat, and took the last stool at the end of the bar.

The place was packed, loud with football on four screens and a bachelorette party in the corner.

Teddy was pulling a pint when he saw him, and he overpoured it by a full inch.

"Careful," Anders said when Teddy set a napkin in front of him. "You'll waste the beer."

"What can I get you, sir?"

"A Guinness. And your attention."

"I'm working," Teddy said.

"I know. I'll be quiet." The grey eyes went down Teddy's apron and up again. "Here's what I'm going to do. I'm going to drink this slowly, you're going to keep pouring for these people, and in forty minutes you're going to take me into that office."

Teddy's hands stopped moving on the tap.

"Mr. Holmgren."

"Anders. I am not touching you, and I'm not asking." He lifted the pint when it came, and his voice stayed low and perfectly level. "And in that office you're going to get on your knees and take my cock until I tell you to stop. And you will not make a sound, because the walls are thin and the owner is on the other side."

Teddy stood very still.

He had a pitcher of lager in one hand and a bachelorette in a sash yelling for shots at the other end of the bar.

His cock was already stiff in his jeans.

"That's not on the list of rules."

"It's a request. The answer's yours."

Teddy slid a paper coaster across the wood, and his hand shook.

"I can't leave the floor for forty minutes."

"Then I'll wait."

He did, and he waited well.

He drank, and read something on his phone, and now and then looked up and watched Teddy work.

Every look warmed the skin where it landed.

By the time the other bartender went on break, Teddy's shirt was stuck to his back.

"Cover me," he said. "Five minutes. The pipe in the back office is leaking."

"Which pipe?"

"The big one. Please, I owe you."

He crossed the bar without looking at the last stool.
