Chapter 5: Clause Two

They did not get as far as the bedroom alcove.

They got as far as the long tatami floor of the fourth-floor room, in the lantern light.

A damp towel lay under Nanami's back, and her glasses were folded somewhere out of reach.

Ria lay over her, wet red hair hanging in a curtain around both their faces, and kissed her.
