Chapter 15: On Your Knees

Linnea's POV

I made them kneel on the loft floor at the foot of the bed, side by side, with their hands on their thighs.

They were both naked.

Anders's knees were as wide as the planks allowed, and Mikkel knelt a hand's breadth away from him, close enough that their shoulders nearly touched.

I sat on the edge of the bed in Anders's henley and nothing else.

In my lap lay two lengths of cedar-bark cord, braided and soft, that Mikkel used for bundling kindling.

"Look at me," I said.

They looked.

"For six nights you let me think I was breaking you."

"Yes," Anders said.

"I climbed on Mikkel at the stove and told him I'd be the death of your post, and you lay up here and felt it."

"Yes," Mikkel said, and his mouth twitched. "It was very educational."

"Don't be funny."

"I'm not," he said. "I'm kneeling."

I let my knees fall open.

Both of their eyes dropped, and Anders's breath stopped.

"Ask me," I said.

"For what?" Anders said.

"For whatever you want. I'm not giving it to you unless you ask."

Anders looked at the floor.

He was a man who had said almost nothing to me in six years, and I watched him make himself lift his head.

"Let me make it up to you," he said, rough. "Let me put my mouth on you until you tell me to stop."

"And you?"

Mikkel's grin had gone.

"Tie me," he said quietly. "I'd like to be good for you, and I'm better at it when I can't do anything else."

"Hands behind your back."

He put them there, and I got off the bed and knelt behind him on the boards.

I wound the cord around his wrists, over and under, and drew it snug.

"Too tight?" I said.

"Tighter."

I pulled it tighter, and he leaned his head back against my shoulder.

I kissed his neck, and his whole back tightened against me.

"Anders," I said. "On the bed. On your back."

He lay down at once.
