Chapter 8: Marco's Punishment

Marco's POV

I had told Sergio I would be gentle, and I had lied to him.

I stood at the window of my bedroom with a glass I had not touched and watched the drive.

Twelve years ago I had stood on that same gravel with a small girl in her mother's coat.

She had come to us and asked.

I could still hear the sound she made when Sergio slid into her.

The knock came at nine, soft and exact.

"Come in," I said.

Élise stood in the doorway in a black robe, her bare feet pale on the dark floor.

The gold-ringed collar was in her hand.

"I didn't know if I should wear it," she said.

"Do you want to?"

"I want you to put it on me."

My hands shook slightly as I buckled it.

I was a man who had broken other men's fingers in a cellar without a tremor, and a small woman with green eyes could make my hands shake.

"Tell me what you want," I said.

"I want what Sergio said you'd do."

"Which is?"

"Not be gentle."

I loosened her robe, and it slid from her shoulders to the floor.

She was naked under it.

The bruises had faded to a faint rose across her bottom, and she turned her back to me and looked over her shoulder.

"Show me," she said. "Show me what the brat gets."

I took her by the hair and bent her over the foot of the bed.

She gasped.

I spanked her until she was crying out and arching up to meet each blow, and the sound of it filled the room.

I kept the count in my head.

She didn't need to speak it.

When her skin was red from hip to thigh, I stopped and put my fingers between her legs.

She was drenched.

"Filthy girl," I said. "Look how wet you are for a beating."

"Yes."

"Say what you are."
