Chapter 12: Ask Me
"No orders tonight," I said.
I lay on his bed in the dark with my hair spread on the pillow.
He stood at the foot of it in his open shirt.
"None?"
"None from me.
"Tonight you ask."
He stared.
"Ask what?"
"For whatever you want.
"You've taken every order I gave you for a month.
"I've never once heard you ask for something of your own."
His chest rose and fell.
"I don't know how," he said, honestly.
"Try."
He came around the side of the bed and knelt on it, and the mattress dipped under his weight.
He looked at me for a long moment.
"I want to undress you," he said.
His voice shook on the last word.
"Then do it."
He undid my blouse button by button.
He did it.
When it was open he pushed it off my shoulders and kissed my collarbone, then each shoulder.
"I want your bra off," he said.
"Take it."
He unhooked it and lifted it away, and I saw his hands shaking.
"I want to feel you."
"Please."
He cupped my breasts in both palms and weighed them.
His thumbs brushed my nipples, and I arched up into him.
"I want my mouth on them."
"Yes, Griffin.
"Yes."
He bent and took one in his mouth, and sucked, soft and slow.
I threaded my fingers through his hair.
This was nothing like the other nights.
There was no hurry in it, and no game, and no one in charge.
He was only a huge man asking for things one at a time, and thanking me with his mouth when I said yes.
"I want to be undressed too," he said.
I sat up and did it.
I undid his cuffs and pushed the shirt off his arms, and kissed the paw tattoo over his heart.
