Chapter 12: The Kitchen
Dell didn't put the tray down.
She stood there holding forty croissants like a shield, and her chin started to shake.
I knew that chin.
I walked out from the back stair into the middle of the kitchen.
"What documents?" I said.

Ryland smiled when he saw me.

The pot was still boiling over.
Nobody moved to it.
"You're undermining me in front of my staff," Ryland said quietly.
"They're not your staff," Colm said. "You don't even know their names."
