Chapter 23: Orange Line
"Tie them tighter," Torsten said.
He sat on the rug beside the Christmas tree with his back against the green wing chair.
His arms were pulled behind him around its heavy front leg.
The tree lights blinked red and gold on his bare chest.
I knelt in front of him in nothing but his old gray T-shirt, with a length of orange pot warp in my hands.
"It's tight enough," I said.
"Can you feel me testing it?"
"I can see you testing it."
He pulled, and the chair did not move, and the rope held.
He grinned up at me, flushed and wide-eyed.
I saw how much he wanted this and how much he trusted me with it.
The first time he had offered, three weeks ago, I had said I would think about it.
I had thought about it every night.
"You tell me if I get it wrong," I said.
"You won't."
I laughed.
I put my hand flat on his chest and felt his heart thudding under it.
"Merry Christmas Eve, Mr. Seavey," I said.
"Merry Christmas, Mrs. Seavey."
I kissed him.
I kissed him slowly, taking my time, with my fingers in his beard and my tongue in his mouth.
He tried to put his arms around me.
The rope stopped him, and he groaned.
I smiled against his lips.
"You can't touch me," I said.
"No," he said.
"You can only watch," I said.
"Susannah."
"Good boy."
His whole body jerked.
I had said it low, and I felt it land.
"Say it again," he said, hoarse.
"Good boy. You're so good for me."
He shuddered, and his head dropped back against the chair.
I put my mouth on his throat and sucked.
I moved down his chest, kissing, flicking my tongue over each nipple.
He swore under his breath.
I kissed the scar along his rib.
I kissed his stomach, and the dark line of hair below it.
I kissed the thick hot length of him, standing up between his thighs.
I took the base in my fist.
I put out my tongue and licked the head, slowly, around and around.
