Chapter 11: The Sick Sister Who Wasn't
Cade shut the guest room door behind us and leaned against it.
"Convent," he said.
"He won't send me to one."
"He said it in front of four hundred people."
"And you crossed the floor in front of the same four hundred." I turned to face him. "I should have said it in the stable, Cade. The prince is a danger to me. Now you have it."
"Late."
"Don't be smug."
He laughed, once, very low, and pushed off the door.
"I'm still angry," he said.
"I know."
"I'm going to be angry for another minute."
"Then be angry."
He kissed me against the bedpost, rough, with his hand fisted in my hair.
My back hit the carved wood and I dragged at his coat until it came off his shoulders.
His shirt followed, and I put my mouth on his throat and bit.
"Imogen."
"You said a minute."
He unlaced the green gown with one hard pull and let it slide to the floor.
I stood in my shift in front of him and pulled it over my head.
He looked at me from my mouth to my knees, and his eyes went dark.
"On the bed," I said. "On your back."
He raised an eyebrow, and then he did it.
I knelt between his thighs and undid his breeches.
His cock sprang free, heavy and flushed, and I wrapped my left hand around it.
"Fuck," he breathed.
I stroked him slowly from the base to the tip, and a bead of wet gathered at the slit.
I licked it away, and his whole body jerked.
I took the head into my mouth.
He tasted of salt and skin, and I sucked slowly, and I felt him go rigid under me.
