Chapter 7: For the Prince Who Is Not What He Seems

Min-jun woke the morning after the heat ended with Seo-jun's mouth against the bite on his neck.

"Don't move," Seo-jun murmured. "I'm putting salve on it."

"It's fine."

"It's purple."

Seo-jun's fingers were cool and careful.

He had not been like this since the heat broke. Every time Min-jun turned over, there was a hand on his back, a cup of water held out, a blanket pulled up.

"Stop looking after me," Min-jun said.

"No."

"I'm the Prime Alpha."

"You're my husband, and I put a hole in your neck."

Min-jun laughed, and then stopped, because Seo-jun had stopped smiling.

He had found the hip.

The crescent was still there on the pale skin, small and silver and warm.

"This wasn't there before," Seo-jun said.

"No."

"Min-jun, it's glowing."

"It's a blessing." He picked the words with care. "Something the moon does. It will fade."

"The moon." Seo-jun looked up at him sharply. "Is this the temple? Is this where you went?"

Min-jun went still.

"Where I went when?"

"The first morning, when you woke shouting," Seo-jun said, very quietly. "You were saying, give me another chance. You were crying."

Min-jun said nothing.

He could say nothing, because the seal sat in his throat, waiting for the wrong word.

"I'm not asking you to say," Seo-jun said. "I know you can't. I can see it when you try."
