Chapter 35: Burn It or Open It

Xiao Chen held the envelope for an hour and did not open it.

He sat on the edge of the nest with the lamp low and the cream paper across his knees.

Shen Yan lay behind him, propped on the long pillow, and said nothing.

He had kept his promise. He was standing next to him, and he was not helping.

"It's thick," Xiao Chen said.

"It is."

"Two pages. Maybe three. He always wrote long when he wanted something."

"You could tear the corner and look."

"I know what I could do."

He turned the envelope over. The censor's stamp had smeared in the corner.

His thumb found the flap, and a hot wave rolled up from his belly into his chest.

It was not anger. It came from lower down, and it took his breath.

"Oh," said Xiao Chen.

The envelope slid off his knee onto the blanket.

His skin went tight all over, and his shirt scraped at him.

A slow wet heat spread between his legs, and his cock filled so fast it hurt.

"Chen?" Shen Yan sat up. "What is it?"

"I think it's." He stopped, shocked at his own voice.

It had gone low and ragged.

"I think this is mine."

Shen Yan breathed in.

His pupils blew wide, and a smile broke across his face that he plainly tried to stop.

"That's your nest-fever. That's the first one."

"It's very inconvenient."

"It smells like," Shen Yan's voice cracked, "like pepper and warm bread. Chen, you smell so good."

"Stop smelling me and help."

"I'm going to."

Shen Yan took his shoulders and drew him down into the blankets.

Xiao Chen went, because his knees would do nothing else.

Shen Yan pulled the shirt over his head.

He unbuttoned the trousers and got them down, and the wet underwear after them.

Xiao Chen's cock slapped against his own stomach, flushed and leaking.

"Look at you," Shen Yan said softly.

"Don't."

"I'm allowed. You said it first."
