Chapter 15: What I Want

I turned the key behind us and dropped it into my pocket.

Everett stood in the middle of my room with his jacket still on.

"You said bring it with you," he said.

"I did."

"Tell me what you want, then. All of it."

Four years had taught me to want what I was handed.

I wasn't handing myself to anyone now.

"Take the jacket off," I said.

He did.

"Now the shirt."

He did that too, slowly, and his eyes never left my face.

I walked up and put both hands on his stomach.

His muscles jumped, and I felt it travel under my palms.

"Here's what I want," I said. "I want you to say what you're about to do before you do it."

His breath caught.

"Every time?"

"Every time. Rule five." I looked up at him. "Tell me the cost first."

A corner of his mouth lifted, and then it went dark.

"I'm going to put you against that door," he said, "and I'm going to take that dress off you."

"Yes."

He did it.

My back met the wood, and his hands found the zipper and drew it down my spine.

The dress fell.

"I'm going to kiss you here," he said, with his mouth at my collarbone. "And here."

His lips moved lower, and each place he named, he stopped at before he touched it.

The waiting was almost worse than the touching.

"Everett."

"I'm going to put my mouth between your legs," he said, "and I'm not going to stop until you tell me to."

"Don't ask me to tell you."

"I won't."

He knelt, and I put one foot up on his shoulder.

He licked me through the lace, then pulled it aside and went at me with his whole mouth, hot and slow and then not slow.
