Chapter 19: One Hundred

The cabin was quiet after dark.

Frankie had parked her truck by the dock and told us she would sleep in the cab with the window open.

She had not asked what we meant to do before morning.

She had looked at the stove, and at the bed, and gone out.

Heath lit one lamp.

I sat on the edge of the cot with my hands between my knees.

"Hey," he said, and knelt in front of me on the boards.

"I'm fine."

"You're shaking."

"I'm afraid of what happens when I stop."

He took my hands and laid them flat on his chest.

His heart was going hard under my palms.

"Mine's loud too," he said. "Feel that? Not a number. Just a heart."

I put my forehead against his.

He kissed me.

It was slow, with none of the roughness of the cabin wall or the penthouse door.

He took his time over my mouth, and my jaw, and the place under my ear that made me shiver.

"Tell me what you want," he said, as he had the first night.

"I want to see you."

"Then look."

I undid his shirt, one button at a time.

His shoulders were warm in the lamp, and the freckles across them stood out.

There was a pale streak at his left temple, and I put my lips to it.

"Does that hurt?" I asked.

"No."

"Does anything?"

"Only that I was an idiot for three years I can't even remember." He smiled.

"You're not one now."

"We are."

I pushed him back on the boards and straddled his hips and took my own shirt off over my head.

His hands came up to my waist and stopped.

"Ains."

"What?"

"You're so beautiful it's stupid."

I laughed.

Then I unfastened his jeans and stripped off my own.

He lifted his hips so I could shove his clothes down and wrap my hand around his hard, heavy cock.

I stroked his hot shaft from root to tip, smearing the slick bead at the crown with my thumb as his face tightened with hunger.
