Chapter 17: Christmas Eve
Dessa's POV
The cattle buyer had me on the arm of the sofa with my skirt up around my waist and his mouth between my legs.
The Christmas tree lights blinked red and green over his gray head.
Supper was over.
Hoyt had taken Dub and Arlo and Jolene out to feed the stock.
He had looked at me from the door and said nothing at all.
I had looked at the three men left in the living room.
They had stood the fence with rifles for three weeks and never asked me for one thing.
I had said, "I want all three of you."
The buyer had been the first to find his feet.
"Now, I don't want to oversell you," he said, against my thigh.
"But I've been told I have a very smooth delivery."
I laughed, and then I gasped, because his tongue slid up my slit in one long wet stroke.
He was fifty-four and silver-haired, with a talker's mouth, and he had waited a long time to be asked.
"There's a lot to recommend this," he said between licks.
"The color. The terms. The, ah, flavor profile."
"Stop talking," I said, laughing.
"Never," said the buyer.
He closed his lips around my clit and sucked it, gently, and flicked it with the tip of his tongue until I stopped laughing.
I grabbed the back of the sofa with one hand and his hair with the other.
He put two fingers inside me, and he worked them in time with his mouth, in short firm strokes that found me quickly.
"Yes," I said.
"Oh, yes. Right there."
"I know," he said into me, in a pleased and muffled voice.
"I am very good at closing."
I came on his mouth with a cry and shook all over his chin.
He rode it out with a patient hand on my hip, and he sat back on his heels with his face shining.
"Nobody's asked me for anything but a price in eleven years," he said.
