Chapter 18: Cliff Walk

The Cliff Walk was empty at one in the morning, and the surf was loud enough to cover anything.

I led him by the wrist down the stone steps below the old summer houses.

At the landing, the path turned in under an arch.

Spray came over the wall and ran down the rock in silver threads.

An iron ring was set into the stone beside the arch, the size of my fist and red with rust.

I put my palm flat on the wall.

"Here," I said.

"It's cold."

"It's about to be warmer. Back against it."

Tiago leaned back against the rough stone, with his coat open and his eyes on my face.

I held up a coil of soft white mooring line.

"Oh," he said. "That again."

"You liked it on the foredeck," I said.

"I loved it on the foredeck," he said.

"Turn around."

He turned, slowly, with a grin I could hear.

I looped the line twice around his wrists, behind his back, and fed it through the iron ring.

I made the knot loose, with a long tail, so that one pull would free him.

"You can get out of that anytime," I said.

"I know," he said.

"Don't," I said.

"I won't, Captain."

I came around to face him and pushed the coat off his shoulders.

It slid down his arms and hung from his bound wrists in a heap.

The air off the sea made his skin rise in the lamplight from the path.

I put my mouth on his throat.

I kissed down his chest, slowly, over the two brass discs on his cord, my number and his, and I felt his stomach clench.

I tasted salt on his skin that wasn't all from the sea.

I opened his belt.

I opened the button and the zip, and his cock came into my hand, hot and heavy and hard, in the cold night air.

He let out a low sound.

"Look at that," I said. "You're already wet."

"You did that on the stairs," he said.

"I did nothing on the stairs," I said.

"You looked at me."

I laughed and closed my hand on him.

I stroked him slowly, base to head, with my thumb circling the slick tip on every pass.
