Chapter 9: The Desk

His mouth came down on mine hard, and I opened for him at once.

He kissed me hard and deep, and I knew he had wanted to for two days.

His beard scraped my chin, and his tongue slid against mine, and I heard myself make a sound I didn't recognize.

He kicked the cabin door shut behind us without lifting his mouth from mine.

The latch clicked.

His hands went to my waist, under the coat I still had on, and pulled me flush against him.

I felt how hard he was through his jeans.

It pressed against my belly, thick and hot, and I rocked into it on purpose.

"Callie," he said against my lips.

"Don't talk."

"I said it to the whole valley."

"I heard you. Do it."

He laughed, low, and the sound went right down my spine.

He lifted me by the backs of my thighs, and I wrapped my legs around his hips, and he carried me across the room.

He set me down on the edge of the desk.

Papers slid to the floor.

I did not care.

I dragged his shirt up over his head, and there was his chest, broad and dark-haired, with a long pale scar along one rib.

I put my mouth on it.

He swore under his breath and shoved the coat off my shoulders.

The sweater came next, then the borrowed thermal, and the cold air hit my skin for one second before his hands covered it.

He cupped my breasts and thumbed my nipples, and I arched against his palms.

"God," he said. "Look at you."
