Chapter 4: Five Hundred Thousand

The robe slid off her shoulders and landed on the bed.

Willa stood in front of him with nothing on and her chin up.

Jasper looked at her for a long moment. His jaw tightened.

"Come here," he said.

She crossed the carpet and climbed onto the bed on her knees.

She bent to kiss him, and she did it badly. Her nose bumped his and her mouth missed.

He turned his head away. "You've never done this."

"No."

Her face burned so hot it hurt.

He was quiet for a second. Then his hand slid into her hair, behind her head, and held it.

"What's your name?"

"Willa."

"Willa." He said it low. "Kiss me properly."

He pulled her down to him, and this time he showed her how.

His mouth was slow and hot and sure. His tongue touched hers and every nerve in her body went tight.

He rolled her onto her back so fast the ceiling spun.

His weight settled over her, heavy and warm, and she gripped his shoulders with both hands.

"Oh," Willa said, and arched into his hand.
