Chapter 15: Alone

Ria did not argue.

She stood in the doorway of 202 with her hands folded and her eyes on the floor.

"Clause nine," Nanami said. "I am using it. No more Fridays."

"Understood."

"I keep the room."

"You keep the room. It is paid for, and it is yours."

Ria's voice was small and level.

"I will not come down again unless you knock."

She bowed from the waist, picked up her bakery bag, and went up the stairs.

Nanami shut the door and leaned on it.

She waited to feel free.

She pressed her thighs together and it did nothing, so she gave up pretending.

She pushed the blanket down and unbuttoned her blouse with her left hand.

Her right hand slid under her waistband.

She was already wet.

It made her angry, and she did it anyway.

Two fingers drew a slow line over her clit, the way Ria did, with patient circles and no hurry.
