Chapter 16: Kneel
"Kneel," Mio said.
Caspian stood inside the barred door with the key still in his fist.
The lamp on the wall was low, and the young knight had gone down the stair to watch the road.
He looked at her.
She stood in the middle of the cell in her shift, barefoot, with her hair loose and her chin up.
"Sir Caspian," she said. "On the floor."
For a moment he did not move.
His expression sharpened, dark and bright all at once.
"You have no authority to give me orders," he said, very softly.
"You wrote it yourself. You gave away your command."
"I did."
"Then tonight you've got nothing to command. You answer to me."
His throat moved.
He set the key on the cot.
He took off his black coat, and laid it carefully on the stone.
Then the Marquess of Sevrin, twenty-seven years old, who had never knelt to anyone but his Queen, went down on both knees at her feet.
"Good," Mio said.
She heard her own voice shake, and kept going.
"Hands behind you. Hold your own wrists."
He did, and his shoulders drew back, and the white shirt pulled tight over his chest.
She walked a slow circle around him.
He did not turn his head.
"Look at me."
His grey eyes came up, and they were wild.
She sat on the edge of the cot and lifted the hem of her shift to her hips.
She was bare under it, and already slick.
"Come here. Keep your hands where they are."
He crawled the two steps on his knees.
She put one foot on his shoulder, and opened herself to him.
"Mouth."
He bent and put his mouth on her.
Mio gasped, and her head dropped back against the cold wall.
His tongue was long and slow and deliberate, and it found her clit at once.
He licked her in broad, steady strokes, and then in small tight circles, and she grabbed a handful of his cropped hair.
"Slower."
He slowed.
