Diana's POV

By seven the next morning I would be on the floor of his study with his notebook open on my knees.

But first there was the night.

"Come here," I said into the dark.

Elias came out of the doorway without a word.

He sat on the edge of the couch, and I put my hand flat on his chest.

"You're dressed," I said.

"I couldn't sleep."

"You were counting."
