Chapter 6: First Time

Qin Heyan lay on the wide bed with his hair spread across the pillow.

For the first time in his life, he was nervous before a fight that had no sword in it.

It was night on the ninth day.

The paper lamps made the room amber, and rain was tapping on the roof again.

Lu Baichuan knelt between his knees, naked and bronze in the lamplight.

One of Lu's big hands rested on Qin's shin.

He looked at Qin.

"You're thinking," Lu said.

"I'm always thinking."

"Stop."

"I can't."

"Then think about this."

Lu leaned down and kissed him.

It was slow and deep, a long drugging kiss, and Qin felt his shoulders unlock one at a time.

He slid his hands up Lu's back, over the old scars and the hard muscle moving under the skin.

He found the red headband Lu had put on again out of habit and pulled it off.

Lu's hair fell into his eyes.

"Better," Qin said.

"You like my hair."

"I like your hair."

"Say my name."

"Baichuan."

Lu's face changed, only a flicker, a softening.

"You said it on purpose. Not in the heat of it."

"I know what I said, Baichuan."

"Again."

"Baichuan. Baichuan. Do you want it carved on the bedpost?"

"Yes," Lu said, and bit his collarbone.

He worked down Qin's body slowly.

He kissed and bit and licked a hot line across Qin's stomach and down to the inside of his thigh.

He took Qin's cock into his mouth and sucked until Qin was arching off the sheet.

Then he stopped, wiped his lips and reached for the jar of oil.

"You owe me words," Lu said, low.

Qin looked at him.

He had promised in the hot spring.

He wet his lips.

"Please, Baichuan," he said. "I want you inside me."

Lu shut his eyes for a second.

"Good," he whispered. "That's so good. Say it just like that, every time."

He slicked two fingers and slid them into Qin, who knew what to expect now.

Qin's body opened for him.

Lu stretched him slowly, then added a third finger and watched his face.

"Look at you. You're so ready."

"Then do it."

"Patience."

"I've had ten years of patience."

Lu laughed, shaky.

"So have I."

He poured oil along his own cock and stroked it slick.

He hooked Qin's knees over his forearms and folded him open.

Qin felt the blunt head press against him.

He held very still.

"Look at me," Lu said. "Keep your eyes on mine, Heyan."

"I will."

"Breathe out."

Lu pushed in.

It was a slow, thick, burning stretch that went on and on.

Qin's mouth fell open.

He gripped the sheet in both fists, and his vision swam.

Lu stopped halfway and stroked his hip.

"You're doing so well. A little more. Open for me."

Qin pushed down against him, and the last inches sank in.

Lu was buried to the hilt, shaking.
