Chapter 18: The Capital Inn

The inn in the capital had a bed that squeaked.

Rin found out immediately, when Kaede dropped her onto it and every spring in the frame shrieked at once.

They both froze.

The walls were thin paper over wood.

Sora's room lay on the other side of the left one, and the innkeeper's family slept below.

"We'll never be quiet," Kaede whispered.

"We can be quiet."

"This bed is a bugle."

"Then we won't use the bed."

Rin took Kaede's hand and drew her down onto the thick wool rug beside it.

She spread the quilt over both of them.

It made a warm tent, dark and close, and Kaede's breath was loud in it.

"I'll be on top," Rin murmured. "I'll do all the moving. You lie still and keep your mouth shut."

"Yes, ma'am."

"Quieter than that."

"Yes, ma'am," Kaede mouthed.

Rin smiled.

She straddled her, in nothing but the quilt, and settled her weight low on Kaede's hips.

Their bodies slid together, bare and hot.

She leaned down and kissed her, a long slow kiss that tasted of the Queen's tea.

Kaede's hands came up and cupped her ass, and squeezed.

Rin hummed into her mouth.

She rolled her hips in a small, slow circle, and the wet heat of her dragged over Kaede's belly.

Kaede's fingers dug in.

Her eyes closed, and her throat worked.

Rin did it again.

She loved this part, the trying not to.

She loved the way Kaede's whole body tightened in a fight to stay silent, the arched neck and the clenched jaw.

She braced her palms on either side of Kaede's head and moved in long, lazy rolls, grinding down against her.

"Mmph," Kaede said.

"Shh."

She reached down between them.

She found Kaede's clit with two fingers, and began to rub in light, steady circles, while still grinding on her belly.

Kaede bucked once, and the floorboards under the rug gave a thump.

They both froze again.

Nothing.

Rin waited, then went on.

She slid down Kaede's body, under the quilt, and kissed her stomach, her hip, her inner thigh.

She settled with her face between Kaede's legs in the dark warmth and licked her, very softly, with the flat of her tongue.
