Chapter 21: Hot as Home

Posy left at nine with her pillow under one arm.

"I'll be at Ilyan's," she said at the door. "Don't set anything on fire I'll have to explain."

Bram came at ten.

He knocked once, stepped in, and shut the door with his back.

He had his own copy of the dean's summons folded in his fist.

"Accuser," he said. "My father made me your accuser."

"I know."

"I'll stand there and say nothing. I'll say nothing for an hour if I have to."

"Then you'd better say it to me first," I said.

I took the paper out of his hand and dropped it on the floor.

"What do you want to say?"

He looked at me for a long moment.

"That I'd rather lose my wolf than my hands on you."

I pulled him down by the collar.

He kissed me against the door, hard enough to knock my head back, and his hands were already under my sweater.

He lifted it over my head and threw it.

My bra went after it.

He cupped my breasts and pressed his mouth between them.

The gold woke under my skin and lit the room.

"Look at you," he muttered. "You're lit up from the inside."

"Take your shirt off."

He did.

I took off my skirt myself and kicked it away.

I stood in front of him in my underwear, and my heart was going wild.
