Chapter 7: The Rail
He never made it to the kitchen table.
He got me as far as the screened porch, where the door banged shut behind us.
He turned me around by the hips and folded me over the rail.
The wood was warm from the afternoon sun.
Past it the cove lay flat and gold, and the bell buoy rang out at the edge of the light.
"Hold on," Torsten said.
I put both hands on the rail.
He flipped my sundress up over my back, and I felt the air on my bare skin.
Then I felt his big palm on my ass, spread wide.
"No underwear," he said, in a voice gone thick. "You went to a festival with no underwear."
"I wanted you to find out," I said.
"Susannah."
"In the shortcake line."
He made a noise I had never heard from him, rough and almost pained.
His hand came down on my ass, one hard clap that rang over the water.
I gasped and pushed back against him.
"Again," I said.
"Yeah?"
"Again."
He slapped the other cheek, lightly, then harder, and the heat of it went through my whole lower body.
He rubbed the sting away with his thumb.
Then he knelt behind me on the porch boards.
I felt his hands part me, and his beard brush the backs of my thighs, and his mouth.
He licked me from behind, long and wet and slow, from my clit to my entrance and back again.
My knees went weak, and I clung to the rail.
"Torsten," I gasped. "Oh my God."
"Mm."
He pushed his tongue inside me, and I cried out so loudly that a gull took off from the roof.
He held my hips against his face with both hands.
He ate me like that until my thighs shook and I was begging.
The sun lay on my back, and the cove shone in front of me.
I came on his tongue with my forehead pressed to the rail, a short hard spasm that left me gasping.
He stood and kissed the small of my back.
"First one," he said. "I'm not done."
Then I heard his belt, and the zipper, and the heavy sound of him stripping his jeans down.
