Chapter 15: Her Terms

Lena's POV

He was sitting on the fourth step from the bottom in the dark, and I knew he had been there since eleven.

I came down in my socks with the baby monitor receiver in my fleece pocket and the cellar door shut above me.

I did not turn on the light.

I put my hands on his shoulders and pushed him back against the steps behind him, and he went.

"Midnight," Nikos said, low. "You said midnight."

"You were early."

"I've been early all day."

I climbed onto his lap with a knee on either side of his thighs and took his face in both hands.

The stairs were old plank, and the cold came up through my socks.

His body was a furnace under my palms.

"You haven't touched yourself," I said.

"No," he said.

"Not once?"

"You told me not to," he said.

"Good," I said, and kissed him.

I kissed him slowly this time, open-mouthed, until his chest started to shudder.

I kept my hands on his jaw so he could not take it from me.

He kept his own hands on the step beside him, gripping the plank, and I heard the wood complain.

I unbuttoned his shirt and spread it open.

I put my mouth on the scar along his ribs, then on the cross.

Then I sank my teeth into the muscle at the top of his shoulder.

He swore in Greek, and his whole body jerked.

"Harder," he said.

"You don't tell me."

"No," he said. "I don't."

I bit him again and held on until I tasted a little blood.

I felt his cock jump against my stomach through his jeans.

I licked the mark.

Then I sat back and looked at him.

"Take them down," I said. "Only enough."

He raised his hips and pushed his jeans and shorts to his knees with one hand.

His cock sprang up thick and dark between us, heavy against his belly, and wet at the tip from the whole long day.

I wrapped my hand around it, and he made a sound I had not heard from him before.
