The poster gave Ja-heon's name, his height and his scar.
It said he had married the Crane for his Seal and fled with him into the marsh.
Five hundred taels of silver waited for any man who brought him to Dongchun alive.
It also said Seon-woo was "recovering from his ordeal in the Chief's care."
Seon-woo read that line twice.
"Care," he said.
His voice was soft, and Ja-heon knew that voice by now.
They turned back before anyone looked at Ja-heon's face.
They rode all night through back lanes, with Ja-heon's hood low and the ledgers against his ribs.
They reached the Pavilion gate as the sky went grey.
Seon-woo dismounted in the court and stood a long time with one hand on his horse.
Then he said, without turning, "You will stay here."
Ja-heon had been expecting it.
"Seon-woo."
"The Gathering is in two days.
"The Chief has put a price on your head and a hundred riders on every road.
"I will go in as the Pavilion Master, with thirty disciples, a ledger, and a packet in my sleeve, and I will speak.
"You will stay with the Lord and the children."
