Chapter 18: The Hotel Room Again
The clock on the hotel nightstand said 10:58.
Ha-jun stood in the middle of the room with his phone in his hand.
Seung-ho sat in the armchair by the window, in his dark gray suit and his black-framed glasses, with his ankle on his knee.
He looked exactly the way he had looked in Park Mi-sook's office on the first day.
He had dressed for it on purpose, and it was working.
"Rule one," Ha-jun said. "No one touches you."
"That was mine."
"I know whose it was."
"Then break it," Seung-ho said, very quietly. "Tonight. Tell me how."
Ha-jun walked across the carpet and stopped between his knees.
He put the phone on the arm of the chair, face down.
"Take off your jacket."
Seung-ho slid the jacket from his shoulders and let it fall.
"Now I touch you."
He took the loosened tie in both hands and pulled, slowly, until Seung-ho's face came up to his.
Then he kissed him.
He kissed him.
His hands were in the short black hair, and his thumbs were under the hinge of those glasses.
Seung-ho's mouth opened under his, hot and eager.
Big hands came up to his hips and gripped.
"Rule one is dead," Ha-jun whispered. "Say it."
"Rule one is dead."
"Everyone touches me?"
"Nobody touches you," Seung-ho said, and his voice dropped. "Only me."
"Good."
Seung-ho shut his eyes as the word landed.
Ha-jun stripped him in the armchair, piece by piece.
The shirt, then the undershirt, then the belt.
He knelt on the carpet and pulled the trousers off.
He kissed the inside of each thigh, slowly, up and up, while Seung-ho's breath grew shorter.
The clock turned to 11:00.
"Rule two," Seung-ho said hoarsely. "Your phone sleeps at my door."
"Where is it?"
"On the arm of the chair."
Ha-jun picked it up and, without looking, dropped it onto the floor by the wall.
