Miles's POV
I had barely let go of Cora when a presenter asked me to stand beside a poster.
The poster showed my face larger than the actual doorway.
"Just a quick response," the presenter said.
Cora looked at me before following an assistant to the waiting room.
I squeezed her hand and let her go.
The presenter asked whether I had always supported her.
It would have been easy to answer a different question.
"No," I said.
He lowered his microphone a little.
"But you're together now?"
"Yes."
He lifted the microphone again.
"And you saw through the rumors?"
"I knew that one wasn't true," I replied.
"I also stayed quiet when Gavin mocked her years ago."
The presenter glanced toward the camera operator.
I wasn't giving him a flattering boyfriend clip.
