Chapter 18: Second Night

He didn't say a word until the door of his room was shut behind us.

Then he turned me around by the shoulders and looked at the bite.

Dalton's teeth had broken the skin above my collarbone, and the blood had dried in a dark line under the neck of the sweatshirt.

"He put his mouth on you," Rhys said. His voice was nearly gone.

"He put his mouth on me and I put mine on him. I won."

"I smell him."

"Then do something about it."

His hands stopped.

He lifted his eyes, and the gold in them had gone to something older and darker.

"Sierra."

"You counted to thirty yards and you stayed on the porch," I said. "You've kept every single rule you ever made. I'm awake, and I'm standing, and I'm asking. Take him off me."

He took the sweatshirt off over my head in one pull.

He put his mouth on the bite and licked it clean, slowly, and I felt it all the way down my spine.

"Mine," he said against the wound.

"Say it again."

"Mine."

I pushed him back.

He let me, and that was what undid me, how he let me.

I walked him back to the bed with both hands flat on his chest until the edge caught his knees, and he sat, and looked up at me with his lips parted.

I pulled his shirt off him.

I put my hands on the claw scars across his ribs and followed each one down with my mouth.

His breath shook.

"You've done nothing like this," he said.

"I've done it once. You were there."

I knelt on the floor between his knees and opened his jeans.

He was already hard, thick and heavy in my hand, and I looked up at him as I took him in my mouth.
