Chapter 11: The Kitchen Island
Lena's POV
He set me on the cold edge of the island, and for a moment neither of us moved.
His forehead rested against mine.
"I'm not going to rush this," he said. "Whatever you want. Slow, or hard. You say."
It was the first thing he had said in a month that had no angle in it.
"Slow," I said. "Then I'll tell you when."
He kissed my mouth, my jaw, the soft place under my ear. His hands untied my robe and pushed it off my shoulders, and the air in the kitchen was cool on my skin.
I had nothing on under it.
He made a low sound in his throat.
"You walked down here like this?"
"I wasn't expecting company."
"I live here."
"Then you should have called ahead."
He laughed against my collarbone, and I felt it in my chest.
He kissed down between my breasts, taking his time, one hand at the small of my back to keep me steady on the stone.
He took my nipple into his mouth, and I gasped and pushed my fingers into his hair.
"Brennan."
"I know."
He lowered himself, down my ribs and across my stomach, and sank to his knees on the kitchen tile.
He looked up at me from between my thighs.
I put my hand in his hair.
He put his mouth on me.
I had forgotten how good he was at this. I had told myself I had forgotten.
He licked me slow and wide, and then he found my clit with the tip of his tongue and circled it until my thighs began to shake.
I braced my hands behind me on the counter.
