Chapter 20: After the Applause
The partition went up before the car cleared Fifth Avenue.
Eliot had August's lapels in both fists and his mouth on his before the driver's eyes had left the mirror.
"You didn't let go," he said, between kisses. "You stood at the door and you let me do it."
"You told me to."
"You were magnificent."
"I wanted to put him through the stage."
"I know. I felt it in the bond. Your hands were shaking for an hour." Eliot dragged the black bow tie loose and bit the jaw above it. "Then you caught him, and I almost came where I stood."
August groaned.
The car slid through the lights of Central Park.
Eliot climbed into his lap in the long blue coat, with the silk sweeping the leather seats.
He found the zip of August's trousers and had it open before they hit the next light.
"Eliot, the driver."
"He's a professional."
"You're out of your mind."
"I'm four months pregnant, I just burned the Auchinclosses down on a stage, and I'm in the back of a car with my husband." Eliot took the thick cock in his hand and stroked it, slow and sure. "I've earned it."
August let his head fall back on the seat and laughed.
The laugh broke into a gasp when Eliot's thumb found the wet slit and rubbed it in a circle.
"Quiet," Eliot said. "Or he'll hear."
"Then stop."
"No."
He worked the shaft in a long tight twist, and kissed him open-mouthed, and swallowed every sound.
The car turned a corner.
The streetlights flickered over August's face, over the clenched jaw and the lashes and the tendons of the neck.
His hips began to lift.
"Don't," Eliot murmured. "You come when we're inside. Hold it."
"I can't."
"You can. You held the whole stage."
