Chapter 17: Six Years

Jesse's POV

The room over Birdie's kitchen had a slanted ceiling, a double bed, and one lamp with a yellow shade.

Hallie shut the door behind us and turned the lock.

I had been in her shop a hundred times.

I had never once been in a room of hers with a bed in it.

"You're thinking," she said.

"I'm trying not to do it too fast."

"We did fast. We did it on a workbench with my boots on." She stepped up against my chest. "I want the slow one."

I kissed her.

She tasted like Birdie's coffee, and she made a low sound in her throat that went through my whole body.

I took the leather cord out of her hair and let it fall around her face.

I undid the buttons of her shirt one at a time.

She watched my hands, and her breath got shorter with every one.

When the shirt was off I put my mouth on her collarbone, her shoulder, the freckles along the top of her breast.

She pulled my shirt over my head and pushed me back to sit on the edge of the bed.

"Stay," she said.

She knelt on the rug between my knees.

"Hallie, you don't have to..."

"I know I don't."

She opened my belt and my jeans, and I lifted my hips so she could pull them down.

My cock was so hard it hurt.

She wrapped her fingers around it and looked up at me, and I could not breathe.

"Tell me what you want," she said.

"Your mouth."

"Say the rest."

"Suck me, Hallie. Please."

She took the head between her lips and ran her tongue around it, slow, and I swore and put my hand in her hair.

She took more of me.

Her mouth was wet and hot, and she worked the base with her fist in time, and I felt the pull of it all the way down my spine.
