Chapter 9: All of It

His apartment was dark except for one lamp.

I dropped my bag by the door and turned around.

Ezra stood two steps from me with his hands at his sides, not touching anything.

"We don't have to," he said.

"Rule two," I said.

His eyes narrowed.

"I'm not in your clinic. You're not my attending tonight." I walked toward him. "So rule two doesn't count."

"Brynn."

"You set the pace, and I'm done waiting."

I put my palm flat on the front of his sweatpants.

He was already hard.

He was thick under my hand and hot through the cotton, and he jerked when I closed my fingers around him.

A rough breath left his chest.

"Fuck," he said.

It was the first time I had ever heard him swear.

I slid my hand under the waistband and wrapped it around his bare cock.

It was heavier than I expected, and smooth, with a vein running up the underside.

My fingers did not close all the way around it.

I stroked him once, root to tip.

His hand locked on the back of my neck.

"That's enough," he said, through his teeth.

"Is it?"

"Yes." He pulled my hand out. "Bedroom. Now."

He picked me up and carried me down the hall.

He set me on the edge of a big bed with gray sheets.

He knelt in front of me and took off my shoes, then my scrubs, then my top, slowly.

I sat there with nothing on.

He looked at me for a long time.

"God," he said. "You're beautiful."

"Ezra."

"Lie back."

I lay back. He stood and stripped off his T-shirt, and I saw his chest for the first time.

He was broad and hard-muscled, with dark hair across it, and a scar below his ribs I'd never known about.

Then he pushed down his sweatpants and I saw all of him.

He was bigger than the toy.
