Kasper left the hospital on Thursday with a doctor's note, a bag of Aili's cookies and a ban on screens.
I picked him up at the curb in my own car.
He climbed into the back seat with his hood up and his sunglasses on.
He lay down across it.
"Doc."
"Yes."
"Is Frenchy mad at me?"
"Why would he be mad at you?"
"I couldn't stop the puck." His voice cracked. "I was supposed to stop the puck."
I pulled over.
I turned around in my seat and took off his sunglasses, and his eyes were red and wet and very young.
"Kasper, you were concussed. Nobody stops anything with their head hurt. They should never have put you in."
