Chapter 15: Bram's Turn
Rest day started at five in the morning with the smell of butter.
I came down to the kitchen in a robe and found Bram at my stove.
He wore an apron with a cartoon cow on it that someone had left as a joke.
He had on nothing else but shorts.
"I make pancakes on rest days," he said, not turning around.
"It's tradition."
"For who?"
"For me, and for the team.
But this batch is just for you."
I sat on the counter and watched his broad back move.
The pan hissed.
He flipped a pancake without looking and caught it, and I thought it was the sexiest thing I had ever seen a man do.
He set a plate in front of me, with a pat of butter and a fork.
I took a bite.
It was perfect.
"Bram," I said, with my mouth full.
"You can cook."
"I can do a few things."
"You can do a lot of things."
He turned around, and his ears went pink.
"Can I tell you something?" he said.
"I read about your condition.
At night, in my room.
I looked up the name of it."
"The prolactinoma."
"The prolactinoma.
It's benign.
